A group of young people from the Church are going to be part of this the 2009 Faith Hope and Gaffertape Theatre Week.

Faith Hope and Gaffertape is a Christian group, which organises performing arts events for young people. The name was invented at a theatre week run by the URC at the URC’s national youth resource centre at Yardley Hastings. In 2003 the URC’s national youth resource centre was closed by the URC but two of the leaders of the last theatre week decided to set up Faith Hope and Gaffertape as an organisation that would continue to run the theatre week as well as other performing arts events for Young People. Theatre week is an annual event where a group of young people learn, rehearse and perform a musical in a week. Ten young people from Wellingborough United Reformed church are planning to participate in the theatre week this year.

  To help support with the costs of this; on the 16^th May 09 a Line Dancing Evening was held at Salem Hall on Salem Lane in Wellingborough. This was completely organised and will be completely run by the young people and all the profit will go towards the theatre week. If there is any money left over from the fund raising efforts then the money will go towards other activities and resources for the young people in Wellingborough United Reformed church.

 The group also:

had a toy stall as part of the Church plant sale

sold refreshments at the Junior Church evening

had a car boot stall

The Concert! 

This was held on 27th June at 7.00pm at Wellingborough United Reformed Church, High Street. 

Tickets £4.00 Adults £2.00 Children

It  included some great groups including WM&AC Concert Orchestra, Spirit of the Future which is made up of some of the young members of the Church.
